Use up all of your ammunition for your heavy weapon (there is no reason to save it) and keep about 40 high-grade rounds for your automatic weapon (or about 80 home-made bullets). Circle around the Colonel (use him as an obstacle) and keep him at a distance where his figure is no smaller than a third of your TV's height (which is about 4 meters). Wandering too far from Colonel Miller or an invisible "engagement bubble" around Artyom immediately has you getting killed by a nosalise who rips your throat out. At this point, you will want to stay near Miller at all times. Once you lose enough life and are knocked down, Colonel Miller with his super electro-shotgun will save your ass.
